Software Configuration Management Engineer

Software Congiguration Management Position
Full-Time, Permanent Position
Salary: $80-$90K
Location: Fairfield, CT

Responsibilities:
?Create all controlled versions of deliverable Software Executables. This includes builds for
•Development Testing
•System Integration
•System Test
•Beta Test
•Manufacturing Release
•Field Patches
?Definition, development, and support of utilities used with the Software Configuration Management tools. These are utilities are for use by both the Configuration Management Group as well as by the Development Engineers.
?Participate in the development process to help define the Software Configuration rules and structures to be followed by new projects.
?Manage and maintain the Software Configuration Management tools
?ClearCase Administrator responsibilities including training, preventive maintenance, day-to-day usage, and enhancements for productivity.
?ClearQuest Administrator responsibilities including training, preventive maintenance, day-to-day usage, development of new schemas, and enhancements for productivity.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Education:
Four Year Degree in Computer Science.

Required Experience / Skills:
?Three or more years experience with Software Configuration Management.
?Knowledge of Software Configuration Management Theory as well as general Software Engineering life cycle development methodologies.
?Use of Rational ClearCase in a combined UNIX / NT environment.
?Experience in Shell and PERL scripting.
?Experience in a UNIX environment, particularly with SUN OS and Solaris.
?Ability to support and track multiple simultaneous projects.
?Software development experience in a structured Engineering environment.
?Good written and verbal communication skills.
?Good problem solving skills.
?Good interpersonal skills.

Preferred Abilities:
?Use of other Software Configuration Management tools – both source control and defect management.
?Microsoft Visual Source Safe familiarity.
?Specific defect management experience with ClearDDTS or ClearQuest.
?SQL Database experience.
?Knowledge of general Operating System internals and their usage.
?Application development in C, C++, JAVA, XML, etc.
