Senior Thermal Analyst

Perform and direct thermal analysis efforts on complex RF, photonic, digital, and power & control spacecraft electronics. Provide thermal analysis inputs and design solutions to new and on-going hardware developments as part of an integrated design team. Coordinate environmental verification testing. Work with Thermal Systems organization to define derived environmental requirements & boundary conditions. Provide oversight, analysis inputs, design solutions and issue resolution support to key suppliers. Identify & lead strategic technology development initiatives that have high analysis leverage. BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering and 15 year of directly applicable experience required. Security clearance (SSBI) required. Grade and salary determination commensurate with level of applicable experience.

Proven industry leader in the area of thermal analysis for space borne electronic hardware. Ability to distill complex technical issues and articulate their resolution to customers, managers, suppliers and multi-disciplined peers is a critical attribute. Detailed knowledge of spacecraft environmental requirements flow down, thermal verification methods and IC device modeling is highly desirable. Should possess solid Finite Element Analysis (FEA) skills with TAS, SINDA and have an excellent command of thermal control systems, heat transfer issues for space borne electronics, and advanced material solutions for high thermal density applications. Knowledge of advanced electronic packaging technology for MMIC based modules a plus.
