Senior Test and Integration Engineer

General Dynamics is seeking a talented Senior Test and Integration Engineer for an exciting position supporting our Army contract (Combat Training Center – Objective Instrumentation System). This position is based out of Orlando FL with 25% travel to Fort Irwin, CA (2-3 weeks per quarter). The program provides simulation for soldiers in combat utilizing voice, video, and data communications - both wireline and wireless. Availability needs to be the first week of October and an active DoD clearance is required.

REQUIREMENTS
The Sr. Network Test & Integration Engineer will have the primary responsibility of performing systems integration and testing for a wired and wireless communications infrastructure for the Army's Combat Training Center - Objective Instrumentation System (CTC-OIS). The individual assuming this position will work as a member of the communication infrastructure team and will be assigned as the senior test & integration engineer responsible for creating a comprehensive wired and wireless network integration test strategy. He/She will define, write and execute test plans and procedures to fully evaluate the network's ability to meet the CTC customer requirements for functionality, performance, interoperability and usability, both in a simulation (lab) environment and in the field.

The candidate will also have responsibilities to support ongoing laboratory test & integration activities, including the development and implementation of systems test automation tools and scripts. The candidate will ensure compliance with project engineering schedules/priorities and adherence to client standards/procedures. He/she will participate in periodic technical reviews and client meetings, and regularly interact with management, clients, vendors and team members.

BS or MS degree in Electrical, Computer, or Network Engineering or equivalent. Networking vendor and/or industry certifications a plus.

5-10 years of experience in a broad range of networking tasks including planning, design, test, integration, deployment and management of high-speed, secure, highly survivable, voice, data & video, wired and wireless networks. Specific expertise is required in DWDM, L2/L3 IP, 802.11 and 802.16 network design and implementation. Expertise in network design, integration and testing in a modeled and simulated environment is highly desirable. Knowledge of inside plant and outside plant (ISP/OSP) design and deployment for both wireline and wireless physical plant is desired. Knowledge of U.S. Army tactical training and operations requirements is preferred.

The candidate will also need significant experience with interoperability testing of a wide range of physical and logical (protocols) interfaces for wireline and wireless connectivity including data, voice and multimedia communications. Integration testing experience on a wide range of COTS network equipment and network management systems is required. Additional expertise configuring, troubleshooting and testing COMSEC, Windows 2003 Server, VPN, DNS, Firewall and RADIUS systems highly desirable.

US citizenship and a Secret security clearance is mandatory. Experience in U.S. military communications systems is highly desired. Some travel (~25%) will be associated with this position. Exceptional written and verbal communications skills are required.
