|
Senior System Test Engineer
Purpose: Primary Function: Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test procedures for variety of Microsoft Windows based instrumentation products. Perform and maintain software build process and defect-tracking database for multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, implement, execute and maintain manual and automated test procedures, documentation and environment.
- Troubleshoot new and existing instrumentation software.
- Support software related issues in the field as required.
- Participate in software design and code reviews, requirements generation and review, configuration control, problem reporting and resolution, and change control. Audit, monitor, evaluate, and report.
- Review software documentation to ensure product requirements compliance, risk mitigation, and completeness.
- Maintain and track software related action items and change requests with metrics.
- Test oversight; configuration control oversight; and change control oversight.
- Work closely with Technical Support, Field Support, and Marketing to quickly validate defects found by customers, assess severity, and input to workarounds.
- Evaluate, implement and maintain software tools.
- Other duties as required to support business needs.
Education and/or Experience:
- B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 5 years experience in software testing and verification, preferably for instrumentation products.
- Experience in developing and maintaining automated and manual software test procedures for Microsoft Windows or other Graphical User Interface platforms.
- Knowledge in C++ and/or Visual Basic programming languages is required.
- Experience with software development and software quality assurance processes in a rapid development environment.
- Experience with maintaining defect-tracking system.
- Understanding of PC hardware and software operating on embedded, Win NT and Win 2000 platform required.
- Strong individual contributor who can work well under pressure in a small group environment.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience testing medical devices is desired.
