Senior Software Systems/Database Engineer [performance]

Designs, implements, documents and maintains complex platform-independent software systems, subsystems and application programming interfaces.

Provides technical leadership requiring specialized expertise, creativity, initiative and sound technical judgment to execute complex tasks. Assignments are focused on implementing broadly defined programs/projects within defined parameters.

Identifies and advocates for new, enhanced or replacement technology to achieve objectives. Serves as the lead on the design and implementation of platform-independent solutions. Trains other engineers on project architecture and technology.

Demonstrated ability to work at many levels of abstraction. Pays attention to detail while still seeing the big picture.
Job Requirements


BS/BSCS & 7-9 years or MS/MSCS & 6-8 years

Proficiency in systems programming using C / C++. Java experience desirable.

UNIX / Linux platform experience is a must. Windows experience desirable.

Exposure to multi-user, multi-threading, kernel level programming. SQL programming desirable.

Knowledge of DBMS internals such as query processing, access methods internals. Transaction management, process scheduling and networking desirable.

Experience in RDBMS Development and performance Engineering Desirable.

Candidates with strong analytical skills would be preferred.
