REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: 3-5 years of application development experience.
Working knowledge of all phases of the software development lifecycle, from functional specification through coding, testing, and the customer support required for a commercial product.
The ideal candidate will have experience with some of the following application development tools; HTML/DHTML, ASP.NET, VBA, VB.NET, C#, C++/COM, IIS Web Server, Visual Interdev, Visual Studio.NET, Windows 2000 Server(admin and security), Unix Shell Script, JavaScript, ServerSide Jscript, Data Warehouse, SQL, XML, FrontPage, VSS, Oracle.
Must possess strong time management skills.
Good written/oral communication skills; excellent team player.DUTIES: Participate as part of a team in all phases of the development life-cycle. The Senior Software Engineer will work with the validation team, the technical team and the customer to gather requirements for the URS, create validation plans, perform risk and/or supplier assessments, create the functional and technical requirements documents, design the technical solution, design testing documentation, assist with IQ/OQ/PQ, provide post go-live maintenance support and potentially assist in the decommission process. The interaction from start to finish ensures that the design of the final product meets the original requirement of the user.
Author and edit application component functional specifications, technical design documents and lead technical design meetings. The Senior Software Engineer will provide feedback for technical design documents and participate in technical design meetings and will follow documented procedures for writing of specifications. The standardization enforced by following the documentation procedures allows for consistency and thoroughness in design.
Develop accurate time estimates for their assigned tasks, and provide a detailed work-breakdown structure for those tasks. The Senior Software Engineer will exercise project management skills for estimating. This will ensure accurate timeline estimates to the user and enable proper scheduling of resources.
Code features and perform unit tests for complex application features. The Senior Software Engineer will follow departmental procedures for the preparation and execution of validation and change control documents. The testing ensures that the design meets the user's expectations.
The Senior Software Engineer will assist and perform knowledge sharing with the Software Engineer.
