Senior Software Engineer (RH)

***CLEARANCE REQUIRED: TS/SCI Full Poly*** Primarily responsible for engineering, monitoring, administrating, and implementing performance tuning on large-scale relational database systems
Provide database development, integration, data maintenance, query and report generation, and/or enhancement support as tasked
Coordinate activities with government personnel to support program activities with database requirements
Must have at least five years in software intensive projects and programs for Government or Industry customers
Assist in developing, evaluating, and selecting alternatives to meet customer requirements
Identify interoperability issues and recommend resolution strategies
Perform data modeling, develop database architectures, optimize database design, and manage data integrity
Maintain BEA Weblogic portal software and interfaces to Oracle databases
Maintain Java JDBC interfaces in operational software working with other Senior Java engineers to optimize interaction with databases
•Solid background in software development
•Excellent communication skills
•Able to analyze current and forecasted system requirements and design system to meet these requirements
•Must be able to work in a small team environment and have strong teamwork skills
•10+ years of Oracle DBE experience with at least 2 years of Oracle 9i
•5+ years of PL/SQL coding experience
•Experience installing & configuring Oracle server & client software
•Experience in Oracle features/utilities - including external tables, partitioning, sql*ldr, triggers, indexing, caching, etc.
•Willing to participate in weekend/evening/holiday on-call rotations with team
•Familiar with Oracle XML DB highly desirable
•Familiar with SAN/NetApp storage desirable
•Oracle tuning
•Willing to participate in team on-call rotations for supporting on-going missions


Job Requirements


Bachelor's degree in related field.
Ten years experience designing, implementing, and operating complex Oracle relational databases
Experience optimizing database performance
Experience redesigning structure
Experience loading/reloading the data into the database
Experience supporting integration with both new and legacy databases
Experience with BEA Weblogic and interfacing with Oracle
Java Programming
J2EE Programming
Knowledge of CM procedures
Additional Desired Skills:
Ability to work in spiral development environment
Familiarity with Oracle 10g
Familiarity with Java 5
Familiarity with BEA Weblogic 9 and newer versions
Familiarity with Eclipse
