Senior Software Engineer - (LinkVB22112)

Job Description: Define the requirements for integrating RJ training systems into the Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) network. Analyze and document the capabilities and limitations of this integration to include tradeoffs, costs and designs. Once capabilities are documented, develop a program plan and roadmap for the integration. Determine the requirements for a Text-to-Radio Simulation (TTRS) system application and select a Text to Speech (TTS) for use with a Network Interface Unit (NIU). Develop Text-to-Radio Simulation (TTRS) application and integrate with the NIU. Develop a basic RF Threat Environment by integrating the TTRS application with the Next Generation Threat System (NGTS). Modify NGTS to provide text inputs to the TTRS application. Integrate the RF Threat Environment with an existing RJ training system. Job tasks include network interface and simulation environment software design and integration
The successful candidate must be able to develop and implement solutions to difficult software problems, as well as work according to established guidelines and technical directions. He or she would design, develop and implement software programs, procedures and documentation to support customer requirements. Also help identify and resolve technical problems that would affect cost, schedule and performance. Must be able to work with others in a team environment.

Required skills: Working knowledge of C, C++, jovial, assembly, and FORTRAN languages highly desired. Working knowledge of Windows 2K, XP, Linux, and VXWorks highly desired. Experience with UNIX, Visual Studio, MS Direct X, and Open GL languages also preferred. Experience with aircraft simulation a plus. Must have several years experience in software development, implementation and testing.

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science and 8 years' experience in an engineering classification.

Additional Comments: Position requires current DOD security clearance at the TOP SECRET level.
