Educate Online, a division of Educate, Inc., is seeking a senior level Software Engineer/Developer for full-time employment. The successful candidate will be a thought leader in guiding management and the software delivery team in innovative technical solutions for the next generation of on line platforms. Using a consultative approach and a mix of passion for excellence and technology, this hands-on technologist will help Educate Online deliver high quality tutoring services to student in the K-12 marketplace.He/She will report directly to the Manager of Application Development, and will architect and build software using various technologies to deliver innovative solutions. We’re looking for a leader in technology who is not just a software designers, but a hard-core coder who needs to be thinking about creative ways of using cutting edge technologies and approaches to helping our business grow, yet still have the experience to implement those approaches.
REQUIREMENTS
Successful candidates will possess the following skills and attributes:
BS in an IT discipline.
10+ years experience in enterprise software development.
2 or more years .Net development experience using C#. Preferred .Net experience includes SOA, Web Services, XML transform, developing and deploying shared business components, Web apps, COM interop.
Minimum 7 years experience Web application development (ASP, JSP…) and structured OO language (C++, Java, VB6…) experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience with Object Oriented Analysis, Design, and Development required.
Experience with a SQL-based enterprise-level DB required.
Proven ability to work with business owners to define, design, estimate and implement software solutions.
Ability to lead small teams of developers and technical staff through short iterations and coding cycles.
Proven aptitude for working in a fast-paced environment.
Participation in successful Agile teams preferred.
Experience in high availability, on line, B2B environments preferred.
