Senior Repair Engineer
Raleigh, NC

This engineer will be a member of the Combustion Turbine Operations Group that provides engineering support to the Progress Energy combustion turbine (CT) fleet, one of the largest in the nation consisting of more than 100 units in the Carolinas and Florida.

• Develop and document combustion turbine component repair and purchase specifications.
• Coordinate the reverse engineering of complex components.
• Stay involved in the combustion turbine industry through user groups and networking.
• Facilitate condition assessment through interpreting data from borescope and vibration reports.
• Provide technical direction for combustion turbine major maintenance. Inspect and disposition damaged combustion turbine components and develop required repairs.
• Perform onsite quality audits of repair and manufacturing vendors to ensure work is performed correctly and on time.
• Resolve technical issues that arise during installation and assembly of combustion turbine components.
• Contribute technical expertise to RCA and failure analyses.
• Analyze combustion turbine information including performance data, mechanical drawings, and process flows.
• Travel will be required across the Carolinas and Florida.
• Must manage multiple projects at multiple locations.
• Competency in MS Access, Excel, Word, and CAD are strongly desired.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET or equivalently accredited school and 5+ years professional experience.
• Mechanical or Metalurgical Engineering degree preferred.
