Senior Reliability Engineer - LaPorte, TX

The DuPont Vinyls business consisting of the Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) and PolyVinyl Alcohol (PVA) units within Packaging and Industrial Products (P&IP) is in search of a Senior Reliability Engineer for PVA to be located in LaPorte, TX. Both units are sold out with opportunities for growth. The Senior Reliability Engineer provides technical leadership in the areas of mechanical integrity and reliability engineering for the equipment and systems.  These programs will maximize safety, reliability, and uptime while minimizing operating and maintenance costs. 

 

Key job responsibilities include:

Reliability Engineering: Predictive, preventive and precision maintenance, equipment condition and performance assessment, subsequent recommendation of repairs and implementation of these repairs.Lead and participate in Engineering activities that improve the reliability of the equipment and optimize maintenance cost.

Six Sigma: Utilize six sigma methodologies to identify and implement reliability improvements.

Leveraged Resource: Facilitate the integration of Asset Management with Reliability Centered Maintenance, provide technical expertise and functional leadership as needed across the site.
REQUIREMENTS


A BS in Mechanical Engineering or Reliability Engineering, coupled with at least 5 years of experience as a maintenance engineer, equipment engineer, and/or reliability engineer in the chemical process or related industries.

 

Demonstrated necessary skill sets include the following:

Understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance processes, including Failure Analysis, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Root Cause Failure Analysis and Preventive/Predictive Maintenance Technologies.   

Familiarity with API and ASME standards associated with pressure vessels and piping.    

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must work well with mechanics, operations personnel, and management.

Expertise with rotating equipment, power transfer equipment, piping, and pressure vessels systems, rotary dryers, and heat and mass transfer equipment, and fluid solids handling systems. Ability to develop maintenance procedures, equipment fabrication, and repair specifications.

Proficiency in personal computer office software and Reliability software.

Troubleshooting skills in a variety of emergency, routine, preventative, and predictive maintenance tasks

Working knowledge of engineering standards, Maintenance Excellence and Process Safety Management (PSM).

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional

Ability and experience in leading collective bargaining work groups.

Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
