Senior Process Engineer - Deepwater, NJ

The DuPont Secure Environmental Treatment (SET) unit located in Deepwater, New Jersey, is looking for a Senior Process Engineer.  The DuPont SET unit is North America’s largest commercial industrial wastewater treatment unit and has a throughput capacity of 40MM gallons per day.  The plant services the DuPont Chambers Works facility as well as the Delaware Valley region for their industrial wastewater treatment needs.  The Senior Process Engineer will provide technical support and leadership towards effective plant operation, capital projects, and improvement efforts at SET.  Other responsibilities will be to  Assist Operations through technical analyses, process improvement, and implementing Business critical projects and programs.Ensure delivery of thorough basic data packages and serve as a technical resource for capital project teams.   Lead small capital projects related to specific process and equipment. Provide liaison with design engineering personnel to insure proper management of change.   Provide leadership for PSM activities such as Management of Change of Technology and Process Hazards Analysis.   Provide assistance to and lead incident investigations as appropriate.    Actively participate in Six Sigma Black Belt projects.   REQUIREMENTS


The ideal candidate will possess

 

    Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

    At least 5 years of experience in operations technical support / engineering in chemical manufacturing

    Demonstrated experience in implementing improvement projects and programs in cooperation with colleagues within and outside the technical professional group and at various levels in the organization. 

    Demonstrated experience in developing basic data and providing technical support for capital projects and familiarity with capital projects and management systems

    Ability to learn and use Process Safety Management elements

    Self managed with strong initiative

    Able to handle multiple tasks

    Strong communication skills, particularly having well-developed technical writing skills

    Skilled in MS Office applications including Excel, MS Project or Primavera scheduling

    Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
