Senior Principal Systems Engineer

Systems Engineering position with the R&D group of Medication Delivery's Infusion Systems. This role will be involved with the development and updating the design of a real-time, embedded software medical device, specifically the Colleague Large Volume Infusion Pump. As a member of the team, interface with various personnel/functions, such as Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Clinical Affairs, and Quality Engineering.This position will drive and / or have the responsibility for: the development of requirements; requirements management; safety analysis; risk mitigation; system performance definition, budgeting, and verification; timing and tolerance analysis of software and hardware interfaces; subsystem communications protocols; characterization of sensor performance; and technology risk assessments.Qualifications
B.S. degree in Engineering or Science field and 5 - 8 years related experience, or M.S. and 2 - 4 years related experience. Requires strong leadership and organizational skills, effective communication, a proven ability to lead and influence, experience with the implementation of design control requirements, and demonstrated experience in managing projects independently.Familiarization, or demonstrated practical application of: control algorithms, analog and digital sensor design, complex mechanical subsystems, architecture design methodology, management of design constraints, the system of systems design approach, modeling and simulation of system behavior, and hands on integration experience is highly desired.Ensure compliance with regulated body, corporate, divisional, and local standards as applicable.
