Senior Oracle Applications Development Engineer

Business Unit: GE Commercial Finance, Capital SolutionsFunction: Information TechnologyResponsibilities: *Subject matter expert for assigned areas processes and supporting applications functionality, including code, interfaces and data flows. *Analyze, design, program, debug, test and fully document solutions independently. Work at this level is highly complex as well as very large volume.
Responsible for the maintenance of in-place programs as well as building new components. Responsible for vendor evaluation, providing recommendations for selection, and implementation approaches.
Takes on application ownership role for key modules or applications. *Analyzes existing applications to identify and resolve areas where improvement may be obtained in performance, reliability, error handling, recovery, security, and flexibility.
Implements changes at the software and application levels.
Assists in the administration of standards/controls that lead to a stable, productive and secure environment.
Maintains thorough knowledge of application software and hardware capabilities and system analysis techniques.
Performs technical lead and project management functions necessary to promote quality, facilitate resource management and progress reporting, define and maintain initiative or project scope, meet schedules and deadlines, and coordinate activities within and among teams.
Follow IT standards, processes and procedures, help improve and grow these standards as needed.
Develops peer, and cross-functional relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness.
Works effectively with end-users, IT project leaders and technical teams to understand business goals and information needs and support effective implementations.
Work closely with architects, designers and other members of technical teams to translate requirements to new or enhanced application solutions.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: *Bachelors degree in Computer Sciences field
Minimum 5 years experience in a lead Oracle development or a lead software engineering role
Must have system development experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: ( what is needed to be successful day 1 of employment)
Mastery in Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.6 and higher (currently operating in 11.5.9)
Mastery in Order-to-Cash And/Or Purchase-to-PayMastery in Application Developer responsibilities
Excellent customer service orientation; helpful, pleasant and able to deal professionally with customers
Work independently in a technical capacity with minimal supervision
High level of initiative and ability to react quickly to change
Excellent written and oral communication skillsTechnical Skills must include:
Expertise in Oracle development utilities and tools
Expertise in SQL+ , PL/SQL
Expertise in Oracle Forms and Reports
Expertise in Workflow Builder, Kintana
Expertise in TOAD, PVCS (or equivalent toolset)
Capable of designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining complex Oracle solutions supporting core business processes.
