Position Summary:The Senior-level Network Engineer / Team Lead reports to the IT Manager and provides detailed reports on the status of all events, tasks and projects, both upcoming and present. The candidate will provide a wide spectrum of Network Operations and Information Technology services to support corporate and customer operations.
Essential Functions/Percentage of Time Spent on Each:Technical Responsibilities
•Install, configure and manage DNS, WINS, DHCP, server hardware and network operating systems
•Install, configure and manage server hardware, network hardware and network operating systems.
•Deploy, troubleshoot and maintain WAN circuits (ATM, T1/T3, Frame Relay, etc.)
•Configure, manage and design IP routing using a combination of static routing and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.).
•Manage switched architecture to include creating VLANs, managing VTP domains, spanning tree, and port security.
•Monitor all networking equipment and maintain activity logs.
•Configure and maintain firewall, router access lists, and NAT.
•Configure IPSec and manage virtual private networks (VPN).
•Document current network and design upgrades in various written formats (VISIO, MS Project, Word, etc.).
•Manage the health of the network via various SNMP applications.
•Configure and manage an intrusion detection system (IDS) and respond to threats as necessary.
•Configure and maintain email messaging systems such as MS Exchange 2000, 2003, and Blackberry Enterprise Server.Team Lead & Managerial Responsibilities•Lead a team of up to four support staff individuals (Tier Levels 1-3).
•Act as the highest level of escalation (Tier-4) for all technical issues.
•Work extensively with the ITSS Manager on projects, planning, issues, policy, reports, troubleshooting, and installations.•Provided technical support to run projects, while keeping all parties abreast of the progress and provide deliverables by expected due dates.
•Attend technical meetings with the customer for the purpose of reporting, project planning, and technical decision making.
•Hold regular team meetings and mentor the support staff.
•Conduct periodic performance and salary reviews for support staff.
•Support and maintain Configuration Management using an already established CM process.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:•Education
A Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years experience, or a combination of Certifications and 3-5 years experience in information technology, networking design, operations, management, and implementation is required. Professional level vendor certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, and CISSP are highly desired. Minimum certifications acceptable are CCNA and MCSE.•Experience
oFour to Six years of broad experience is required in network management, operations, and design.oAn in-depth understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, IP, UDP, VPN, IPSec, and ICMP.oIn-depth understanding of Internet Security, PC operating systems and server network operating systems is also required.oAbility to configure and troubleshoot network and server equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls and servers is mandatory.oMust be able to document and communicate solutions and manage short and long-term projects as necessary.oAn in-depth knowledge of Cisco Routers, Switches, VPN/Firewalls is a must.oStrong knowledge of Compaq/HP servers, Windows 2000/2003 Server and Active Directory is also highly desired.oExperience with applications such as Tyler Works Munis and OSSI CAD and RMS highly desired, but not required.For consideration, please apply online athttp://jobs-intellidyne.icims.com/ .
