Our client is a worldwide supplier of OEM specialty equipment and looking for a Sr. Metallurgical/ Materials Engineer to work in their New Product Development Center - Materials Group in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin Area.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a lean, hands-on environment with a small group of technical experts. The candidate will be leading collaborative failure analysis investigations in support of the NPD community and must be hands-on in the laboratory work required to support such analysis.
The Sr. Materials Engineer is required provide expertise, maintenance and advancement of existing capabilities in the field of materials engineering, materials analysis, and materials processing and expected to serve as a mentor and teacher of technologies related to metallurgical analysis in castings, forgings, heat treated metals, gearings. Provide leadership in the establishment of process and direct application of technology to the product.
REQUIREMENTS
B S Degree in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering. An advanced technical degree is preferred.
10+ years of materials engineering or metallurgy experience in a metalworking,component manufacturing, or materials laboratory environment is required.
Minimum of 5 years of intense fracture analysis, failure investigation, and materials laboratory experience is required, with a strong background in fracture mechanics, fractography, corrosion, and mechanical behavior of material.
Must have a deep, comprehensive materials engineering knowledge of powertrain/ engine/Transmission materials for high performance light weight applications and related industry knowledge in one or more classes of relevant
materials or manufacturing processes.
Must be willing to travel up to 25%
