Job Description:

We are looking for an individual to fill the position of Senior Mechanical Design Engineer within the Research & Development department. This department is responsible for the design and qualification of new products. The successful candidate will be possess the creative ability, technical skills, and project management capabilities to find innovative design solutions that lead to the on-time delivery of reliable new products.
REQUIREMENTS
* Possess a comprehensive knowledge of mechanical engineering, including analysis of tolerances, stress, fatigue, thermal, and reliability, and use of current tools and software. Able to mentor junior engineers in proper application of engineering knowledge and tools.
* Must have experience with cradle to grave engineering.
* Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes to deliver manufacturable and serviceable designs.
* Able to refine product concepts into quantitative specifications that will guide the design of new products and features. Able to create documents and presentations to present concepts and requirements.
* Show creative ability to develop innovative solutions to problems and designs for new functions. Must be able to express these concepts in sketches or diagrams.
* Show competence with project management and time management techniques to organize and track small design teams of engineers and designers.
* Able to interact with other professionals, both engineers and non-engineers, to smoothly accomplish all of the required elements of a successful product development and introduction process.

Qualifications:

* MUST have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering. An advanced degree is an advantage.
* MUST have prior design experience utilizing the entire engineering lifecycle from concept thru production.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering role, with at least 3 years of product design experience.
* Competence in engineering techniques and application of knowledge to the problem at hand is required, as is experience with good design practices and methodologies.
* Experience in the healthcare field is preferred.
* Fluency in both written and oral English. Ability to prepare clear and concise written reports and presentations.
* Able to organize design reviews and lead technical discussions.
* Must possess a desire to develop innovative designs for new products.
