Senior Manager Software Engineer

Responsibilities:



1. Interface with the development managers to ensure our continuous build/test system (similar to cruise control) meets their needs and direct any desired enhancements.

2 Ensure that the code management infrastructure provides stable and repeatable processes throu!
ghout the system lifecycle.

3. Direct enhancement to existing web based collaboration tools. Maintain knowledge of this landscape and recommend and deploy new tools as needed.

4. Work with lead developers to direct enhancements to our internal test harnesses and automated regression testing.

5. Contribute development documentation, especially for training in new processes and technologies.

6. P
romote development metrics gathering, reporting and display.

7. Ensure the departmental infrastructure is of documented production quality.

8. Other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the team and the organization
REQUIREMENTS


1. Must have demonstrated experience in all facets of the development process, especially in a group like this that provides services to internal customers. Be comfortable in a Linux/Solaris development setting

2. Expertise with source code control environments such as CVS and SVN

3. Strong working knowledge of Perl, BASH, JavaScript, PHP etc. Especially in an Apa!
che web server environment.

4. Expertise with build tools such as make, ant, and GNU autotools and packaging/release tools such as RPM.

5, Database experience with Mysql, Postgres, and/or Sybase

6. Senior level with C, C++, Java, XML, SOAP, SOA, Webservices

7. Familiarity with IDEb
s such a
s MediaWiki, Jira or PHPBB software.

9. Be able to work independently as well as a contributing, collaborative team member.

10. Excellent communication skills, written and oral.



Education and experience:


8-12 years industry experience and a Bachelor*s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or other engineering related field; with equivalent combinations of experience.
