Senior Integration Programmer

The Senior Integration Engineer is responsible for the integration of all systems supported by Mercy Information Systems, which includes analyzing, planning, designing, testing, documenting, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the multiple interfaces that provide the foundation for the 24-hour-a-day service needs of the healthcare environment.Primary Responsibilities:1.Facilitates user departments and vendors to define the interface requirements and scope. Prepares and recommends technical resource requirements needed to successfully deliver and support assigned projects.2.Develop and programs the actual interfaces to/from various applications and/or databases. Works with end users and Data Center Operations to develop appropriate procedures to monitor the interfaces and ensure optimum system performance.
3.Develops and monitors testing methodologies and plans designed to demonstrate interface effectiveness. Responsible for updating interface specification documentation, and participates in completing technical documentation, conversion plans and operations training procedures for Mercy Information System staff.
4.Implements issue tracking and resolution as needed during the implementation of integration solutions. Adheres to Change Control Procedures.
5.Maintains interfaces and evaluates for system upgrades and performance audits. Works with other staff to seek improvements that will enhance information systems and promote more efficient, cost effective services.
6.Meets with team regularly for status reporting and information sharing as appropriate. Communicates issues between groups in an effort to promote good communication and the efficient and effective resolution of issues.7.May complete performance reviews for team members as requested.Job Requirements
Qualifications:
1.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
2.3 years experience analyzing and documenting application and/or interface requirements3.3 years experience in client/server computing and application development in a distributed computing environment.
4.Knowledge of some or all of the following languages and protocols: HL7, XML, ANSI X12, Java, Perl, Mumps, Scripting and EDI related protocols.
5.Knowledge of integration engine technologies6.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex assignments concurrently.7.Ability to work with multiple teams on simultaneous projects8.Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:1.Master’s degree in Computer Science, Health Information Management, Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related field2.Three or more years experience developing interfaces in a health care provider environment utilizing an integration engine/message broker application such as Sybase Impact.
