Senior Health and Safety Professional - CCI

This Health and Safety position is for our construction group for a seasoned site/field construction and remediation project health and safety professional. The preferred office location is our Sacramento office but the position could be located in any of our offices in the Southwest region. This position will primarily support our Environmental business group and may support other business groups where appropriate. This position may require extensive travel and may involve long term assignment away from the employee’s home base of operation. Travel may be domestic and/or international. Travel to and working at project sites will be required as needed. Responsible for complex technical work in a wide range of HS&E disciplines to achieve compliance with CH2M HILL's HS&E standards and regulatory requirements. Works under very general direction/supervision and with either project or regional staff to determine and develop approaches to solutions. Develops, implements and maintains programs systems and procedures necessary to ensure safety and health of employees and the community. Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures and operations to minimize hazard potential. Monitors and prevents chemical, physical and biological hazards and diseases that could be present in the work place. Conducts audits of HS&E program implementation to identify areas needing improvement. May act as lead person or technical expert and provide direction to less experienced personnel. Provides H&S training to field staff when needed.

Basic Qualifications
MS Degree in Industrial Hygiene or Safety and more than 5 years directly related experience; BS and more than 7 years directly related experience; more than 10 years directly related experience with no degree. Must have construction industry experience. Requires good communication and computer skills. Must be able to travel. Background check and drug test required.

Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, or related field. Directly related experience required: MS and more than 5 years; BS and more than 7 years; more than 10 years experience with no degree. CIH or CSP preferred. Must have Construction industry and environmental remediation experience. Requires good communication and computer skills. Must be able to travel. Current 40-hr Hazardous Waste training or annual refresher. Background check and drug test required.
