Senior Engineer - Station Auxiliary Systems

Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, EnergyFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: * Responsible for detailed system design and review of the ESBWR Station Auxiliary Systems. This work involves System Engineering and design of such systems as the Make-up Water System, reactor Component Cooling Water System, Turbine Component Cooling Water System, Chilled Water System, Condensate Storage and Transfer System, Oxygen Injection System, Plant Service Water System and other Station Auxiliary Systems.
Responsible for design guidance, review and comment on assigned Station Auxiliary Systems design deliverables such as System Design Descriptions, P&ID's and Logics Diagrams generated by the Station Auxiliary Systems design contractor.
Responsible for ensuring Station Auxiliary Systems design deliverables are issued on schedule and with the required quality to support multiple Construction and Operating License (COL) applications.
Responsible for ensuring the Station Auxiliary Systems are properly incorporated in the ESBWR General Arrangement and Equipment Location Drawings.
Provide day-to-day support to the Principal Engineer - BOP/Station Auxiliary Systems and Station Auxiliary Systems Designer.
Ensure that any engineering input required to the Station Auxiliary Systems Design Descriptions, P&ID's and Logic diagrams are provided in a timely fashion. In some cases, the supervision of GE personnel, contractors, and suppliers will be required.
Interface with other ESBWR design disciplines such as arrangements, civil/structural design, control and instrumentation, system design and analysis in order to provide design information to the Station Auxiliary Systems design contractor and review of system related interfaces.
Perform work in compliance with policies and procedures.
Interface with internal and external customers on technical issues.
Support GE Nuclear Energy quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating and responding to Corrective Actions.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * BSME or related field
10+ years of BWR power plant operational or design experience in NSSS, Turbine Island and/or BOP systems including system engineering and analysis, material specifications, reliability analysis and hardware procurement.
Working knowledge of BWR systems in general and BWR Power Cycle Systems in particular.Desired: * Previous BWR design startup and field experience is highly desirable.
Knowledge of the SBWR or ESBWR design is highly desirable.
Professional Engineering License is highly desirable.
Demonstrated communication, leadership and computer skills.
