Description:
The Advanced Engineering group in Caterpillar Cooling Systems has an opening for a cooling engineer. Responsibilities of this position will include:
1. Provide technical guidance to engine and machine development teams regarding cooling system performance.
2. Identify and develop new components to meet the cooling needs of future engine programs.
3. Conduct or coordinate analysis projects to predict cooling system performance.
Caterpillar Cooling Systems (CCS), Large Power Systems Division.
REQUIREMENTS
Senior Engineer-Design

Qualifications:
REQUIRED (Must Have):
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Strong technical and analytical skills, demonstrated motivation and teamwork
Clear verbal and written communication
Strong thermal science background (fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer)
A working knowledge of diesel engines and machine cooling systems
Project management skills.
DESIRED (Nice to Have):
MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
CAT engine or machine NPI experience
Previous experience in analysis of cooling systems using Cool-1 or hydraulic systems using Dynasty
Experience with CFD tools such as FLUENT.
