THE ROLE

The ideal candidate must have a successful track record in delivering high quality consumer electronics such as PVR, DVD or STB products to the home market. The candidate must have a thorough grasp of User Interface development for embedded devices and be experienced in all aspects of the software development cycle including requirements gathering, coding, testing and debugging in challenging hardware environments. As a key member of Netflix’s electronic delivery team, this person must be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES


Working with User Interface designers and artists to develop Object Oriented software components for a multimedia Consumer Electronics product.Provide feedback and suggestions about User Interface elements, workflow, and features, including complexity and viability of the tasks.Building a platform-independent, portable, User Interface software framework.Developing creative end-user applications.Interfacing with middleware and device driver components within a Linux-based environment.


QUALIFICATIONS


5+ years of developing Object Oriented User Interface software for Consumer Electronics products.5+ years of C++.Documenting design and process.Multi-threaded development.Accurate short-term scheduling.Test Driven Development.


Preferred Skills/Knowledge


Understanding of 2D hardware accelerationWorking knowledge of XML.GNU toolchain.Linux kernel.Design and development of System and Audio/Video software for a Consumer Electronics Product.
