Senior Electronic Hardware Engineer - RF

Business Unit: GE Industrial, SecurityFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: GE Security seeks an electronic hardware engineer with a background in discrete optical transmission systems to help develop our next generation product lines. The selected candidate will be involved in all phases of development from requirements definition to production release and will work closely with electrical design engineers to ensure the product design will be competitive and meet product specifications. The incumbent will be expected to make technical presentations to peers and managers on the details of your design and project status.Duties include:Hardware design of Optical Transmission Systems.Hardware design for analog / digital video including processing, compression etc.Audio analog filter designProject planning/time management to achieve development goalsCommunication of Status/progress to team and management
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: MS Degree in Electrical Engineering
15 years practical experience in a similar role
Detailed working knowledge of the design issues of both LED and laser transmitters and receivers
Working knowledge of high frequency RF and audio analog design
Extensive knowledge of analog/digital video and design for high-speed data conversion
Ability to work in small, self-motivated teams collaborating with Marketing to determine customer needs and transforming those needs into next generation products
A positive attitude, with the ability to energize and work with multi functional teams
15 years experience in board-level hardware development
Experience with discrete LED and laser transmission systems development
Experience with Pin Diode Detectors
Analog Filter Design
PCB Layout for High Frequency RF and EMC
Familiar with Data Conversion
Familiar with Ethernet and TCP/IP Based Communications
Good Communication Skills, both Written and Verbal
