Senior Electronic Engineer

Flight Operations
Reports to: Director of EngineeringResponsibilities to Include:
Photonics Engineer or Electro-Optical Engineer responsible for developing an optically controlled system to replace an existing electronically controlled system.
Performs complicated and difficult engineering work requiring a high degree of technical competence.
Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice, but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.A Textron Company
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree with 5 - 7 years experience.
Masters Degree with 3 - 5 years experience.
Ph.D. with 1 - 3 years experience or equivalent experience.Position Requirements:
Electro-Optical-Mechanical versatility with good understanding of electronic concepts.
Experience with laser powered systems, optical sensor technology for detecting voltages, currents, and temperatures, single mode and multimode optical fiber technology, and calibration and alignment of optical systems.
Photonics or Electrical Engineer with 5+ years experience with laser controlled optical systems.
Knowledge of alignment and calibration procedures for optical systems, optical fiber routing in high vibration environments, optical measurement equipment, and eye safety requirements. Receives technical guidance on unusual or unprecedented problems.
Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and a good knowledge of related specialties.
Some travel may be required.
Work Experience with LabView, Matlab, and Orcad a plus.License and Certification Requirements:
