Senior Corrosion Engineer

Our client requires a Senior Corrosion Engineer, BS Metallurgy, 15-20 years oil refinery metallurgy with intimate knowledge of refinery processes and associates corrosion and environmental cracking mechanisms, experience with monitoring and optimizing corrosion inhibitor processes, establish critical process variables to protect fixed equipment and process piping with a working knowledge of industrial coasting systems. Comprehensive knowledge of ASTM standards for refining metallurgy and latest alloys used in the refining industry.
Duties will include complete failure anayses on systems and components to determine root causes for failures and recommend improvements to eliminate future failures, evaluate effectiveness of corrosion inhibitor programs, perform life cycle cost analysis on metallurgy of process equipment and piping systems and provide recommendations to management on options, evaluate effectiveness of corrosion inhibitor programs and make recommendations, project corrosion rates for process equipment and piping systems based on process conditions, provide technical support to the refinery, review and approve welding procedures, track corrosion rates of critical process equipment.
