Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, EnergyFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: Lead and conduct system analyses, evaluations and verifications.
Perform and/or review calculations, especially radiochemistry, as necessary to support questions and tasks in the noted systems.
Respond to BWR customer emergent plant design and operations issues on a potential 24/7 basis.
Interaction with NRC and Utility during the certification and design phases.
Interface with equipment suppliers, analysts, I&C engineers, project managers, licensing engineers and materials engineers.
Lead and/or support the development/design of system. modifications in support of technical initiatives.
Develop Engineering Work Processes.
Support GE-NE quality requirements defined in policies and procedures.
Support BWR multi-business new product development and emergent plant issues.
Specify and conduct scale model testing.
Ability to quickly sort relevant information from irrelevant information and make good decisions when information is scarce or unavailable.
Strong external focus; clear and demonstrated understanding of nuclear industry and/or energy industry, takes action to enhance the reputation of the company represents the company well at all opportunities.
Demonstrated ability to work well with teams of diverse people, diverse ideas, in a matrixed environment.
Demonstrated ability to develop credibility with customers, manager and peers.
Considers the external impact of business activities and decisions on customers, market/industry, media, government and communities.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: BS degree in an Engineering Discipline with a minimum of 12 years of experience in BWR NSSS design and operations.
Knowledge of BWR NSSS systems and their interactions and interfaces.
Equipment experience in design, development, integration, operation, testing and evaluation.
Experienced in performing engineering calculations, particularly, heat transfer and fluid flow.
Working knowledge of elementary differential equations and radiochemistry.Desired: Registered Professional Engineer.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Able to coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and support staff.
Strong analytical skills and system regulatory basis knowledge.General: You must submit your application for employment through gecareers.com to be considered

You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
If currently a GE employee, you must have been in your current position for at least 12 months and have at least a satisfactory performance rating.
If you are not a citizen of the US, you must be authorized by the US Department of Energy and US Department of Commerce, to receive disclosure of certain technical information, prior to being hired to work in the Nuclear business.
