Are you ready to make a difference in the world of mobile communications with RIM?POSITION SUMMARY:Ascendent Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of RIM Inc., is the premier provider of enterprise voice mobility solutions that provide single number reach ability, real-time notification and conferencing, and voice continuity.Ascendent Systems is currently seeking a Senior Applications Engineer at our HQ location. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design/development of database related components supporting telephony applications using C++, JAVA, XML, RDBMS, and J2EE. Other responsibilities include reporting, integration testing, bug tracking and resolution, and project technical documentation.ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
4+ years of advanced C++ or Java in communications environment
2+ years experience with Microsoft SQL/MySQL/Oracle
2+ years ODBC/JDBC/SQL programming
2+ years J2EE experience
4+ years of technical lead experience
Understanding of object-oriented analysis and design skills
Good communication and personal skills
Knowledge or experience of eXtreme programming
Strong UI and Human Factors essential
ADDITIONAL ASSETS
Knowledge of .NET Programming (C# and/or VB.NET)
Knowledge of Database schema design and development
Knowledge of Data warehousing, Advanced Analytics
Experience with Tomcat, JBOSS, Webshere, Weblogic
