Science and Technology - Chemical Operations Specialist
The Alabama Army National Guard is looking for candidates with an aptitude for math and science to fill a critical role in our team – the Chemical Operations Specialist. The Chemical Operations Specialist is a Soldier that operates, repairs, or supervises the nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) detection and decontamination equipment, ensuring the safety of himself and his team. This specialist also employs smoke generators and assists in the establishment, administration, training and application of NBC defense measures. Upon mastery of his skill set, the Chemical Operations Specialist may also provide training, advice, and supervision regarding the proper use and maintenance procedures for chemical equipment and chemical operations in company and higher level organizations.
The Alabama Army National Guard is an elite group of warriors who dedicate a portion of their time to serving their nation. Guard members train part-time to be ready full-time, should their state or nation call them to serve.
Major Duties
Operates and performs operator maintenance on smoke generating equipment, nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) identification/detection and decontamination equipmentPerforms NBC reconnaissanceComputes and plots NBC dataSupervises reconnaissance and decontamination squads
