Due to significant growth in the industrial networking and automation group, we seek an additional Automation Sales Engineer in our Indiana-Ohio-Kentucky territory.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is a specialized sales position, which focuses heavily on customers involved in factory automation.
The person will promote the sales growth of industrial networking products, I/O systems and PC-based control products.
The individual will work together with the general field sales force and distributors while also developing personal relationships with targeted OEM accounts.
This is an excellent business development opportunity focusing on a geography having a significant amount of untapped potential.
The position would ideally be based near Columbus, OH but many other locations in the territory can be equally considered. The total territory will include Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Western-Pennsylvania and part of Michigan.
Though the territory has a large geography, the account base is focused in the industrial areas of a few major cities.
The Automation Sales Engineer will direct the activities of various local field sales persons to accomplish the overall growth objectives.
This is a high-profile position with a leading manufacturer and entails significant potential for a driven person who is capable of managing and leading the territory to higher levels of growth.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The compensation consists of a base salary, sales commission and a variety of individual and company bonuses which generally amounts to a total compensation in the mid-$90K range in the first year and usually leads to higher compensation with the accumulation of successful tenure. Above average benefits and a generous car allowance and expense plan are also provided.
REQUIREMENTS
A four-year engineering degree and at least 5 years experience in the field of factory automation are essential.
Equally important would be a solid understanding of bus systems, I/O applications and an understanding of PLC and / or PC-based control technologies and applications.
Experience with Profibus, Devicenet, Canopen or Interbus would be helpful.
Outside sales experience is strongly desired but an outgoing and motivated applications engineer can be equally successful in the position.
The individual must be able to motivate various sales entities to gain mind-share of the automation product line. The successful person will be a motivated, high-energy individual who identifies with the cause and is eager to put forth the effort to achieve the objectives.
