Job Description The Network Penetration Engineer candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks which include: penetration testing, web assessments, ?wardials?, wireless LAN assessments, forensics, and setting security policies for government and commercial clients, conduct network discovery of vulnerable targets, develop customized exploitation techniques, modifies & executes known exploitation techniques, detailed analysis, & makes recommendations for countermeasures to reduce risk, customized tools, exploitation techniques, and scripts
Requirements
applied experience in vulnerability discovery, exploitation and/or reverse engineering, knowledge & ability to apply known exploits to customer networks, identify weaknesses & vulnerabilities, Command-line knowledge to manipulate & apply exploits; Programming skills to modify known network attacks for application to customer network architectures & applications; Ability to install, configure, & apply third-party vulnerability discovery tools; Detailed understanding of network protocols, network devices, & operating systems; Excellent analytical and problem solving skills for network discovery & analysis; Understanding of current security technologies for use as countermeasures to vulnerabilities; Troubleshooting problems; Building & maintaining honeypot networks in support of computer crime investigations, hacker tool analysis without the use of automated tools by using the Linux operating system to reverse engineer source code
Responsibilities
The candidate will have hands-on experience with security tools like network packet sniffers, Nessus, Kane, & STAT, nMap, netcat, dd, WinHex, HDD HexEditor, strings, strace, Ghost, Nero, PartitionMagic, & MetaSploit Framework. The candidate should have extensive experience in analysis & modification of exploit code to assess their function & capabilities
