SQL DBA

Classification: Contract to Full Time Compensation: $60,000 to $78,000 per year Robert Half Technology is currently seeking an experienced SQL Server Database administrator to manage and fine-tune all SQL Server databases. The DBA will also be involved in database design and development including creation/maintenance of stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions, etc. Some applications development will be available to the DBA if he/she so desires. The position may also entail light network administration duties from time to time.
This position will manage multiple databases on multiple servers - supporting our production, UAT and test environments within a Microsoft Platform (development work is done in ASP.net, VB.net and VB6). In addition, the position will perform server administration services, including security access for databases, applications and various server-based services.Responsibilities
•Create robust and efficient database designs and physical data models.
•Load, unload and migrate databases and tables as appropriate. Maintain database replication. Maintain databases in prod, test and UAT environments.
•Maintain database backup and recover procedures. Test at regular intervals.
•Update/modify database tables and designs as appropriate.
•Document database structures, schemas and entity-relationship diagrams. Document process and procedures required to support the environment.
•Create entity relationship diagrams, document schemas and logical data models
•Provide coaching and consultation to development team regarding data-related aspects of application design.
•Troubleshoot database problems. Identify and correct database inefficiencies
•Provide security administration of databases and servers.
•Troubleshoot server and connectivity issues.
•Interact with Client Services to resolve customer problems and test scripts in support of all intended production releases of software.
•Develop SQL Reports as required
•Provide status updates to team leader(s).
•Provide input into product design.
