SENIOR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

Our client is a leading online marketing and advertising firm. Founded in 2000, this fast growing company has been profitable since its inception and is debt free. Because of this growth, we are currently accepting applications for the following position.

SUMMARY
Responsible for developing strategies for the future direction of Linux and Network Systems by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Performs network administration functions.
- Performs system administration functions.
- Recommends and implements stable network solutions.
- Conducts performance monitoring and capacity planning.
- Handles backup and recovery as well as disaster recovery procedures.
- Provides senior level help to system administrators.
- Other duties that are within education and experience or the incumbent may be assigned for the betterment of the company.
REQUIREMENTS
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Expert knowledge of custom kernel configurations, tuning and support
- Expert knowledge of (bash) shell scripting in a Linux environment required
- Knowledge of a relational database such as (MySQL) is required
- Knowledge of administration of SANS and clusters in a Linux environment required
- Skilled in Tripwire, NetApp, and Linux Cluster Management Tools; such
as: Steeleye/Lifekeeper, Linux OS tuning for relational databases
- Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Relevant BS degree from four-year college or university; and minimum 5 years experience in Unix/Linux systems support and 2 years of Linux systems support for relational databases.
