REQUIREMENTS
CNE or equivalenceBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Communications or related field and five to seven (5-7) years experience or equivalent.Demonstrable complex work level understanding and use of network protocols, network operating systems, and various network models in and enterprise wide network situation (e.g. peer to peer, client/server).Novell Certified Netware Engineer (CNE) or equivalent. Strong experience in at least one network operating system in use in the hospital (IPX/SPX, IP, DECnet, or AFP)Experienced senior network engineer for the installation and support of the institutional enterprise network.Experience with ethernet based local and wide-area networks required. CNE or equivalence. Demonstrable experience with the following protocols: IPX/SPX, IP, DECnet, Apple Talk (or EtherTalk) and AFP. Duties include: Network performance monitoring, trouble shooting, Novell NOS support, Network electronics support and troubleshooting.Demonstrate a complex work level understanding and use of network protocols, network operating systems, and various network models in an enterprise wide network environment (e.g. peer to peer, client/server).Strong written and verbal English communication skills.Able to respond calmly in the face of user distress.Able to effectively manage contacts with outside vendors and consultants.Possesses strong mechanical aptitude.Able to establish and maintain a good working relationship with the department and general hospital staff at all levels as senior member of Network Services team.Excellent analytical and trouble shooting skills with real world practical application.Sound analytical and trouble shooting skills.
