SDET - Software Design Engineer in Test - Level 3 (C++ or C#) and Search Issues



A team dedicated to online searching techniques at the Software Giant is looking for a strong Software Design Engineer in Test to assist with creating automation testing for many of the problems unique to a local search. Duties will be primarily development oriented, which involves roughly 80% coding and 20% testing.

Pioneer new methodologies of understanding and improving on human-judged results relevance - their key success metric with automated analysis
Work directly on the unique set of challenging and rewarding research areas such as natural language processing, information retrieval, text classification and data mining
Develop new approaches for automating data quality validation & analysis
Own planning, designing, and implementing regression & e2e automation & infrastructure utilizing (& often spearheading) the latest techniques
Work on measuring & improving performance and throughput on a distributed system & massive databases

This is an estimated up to 1 year contract position, but we will consider candidates with only 4-6 months availability. Requirements:



Required Skills for this Software Design Engineer in Test - Level 3 position will include:
Test experience is not required, although the ideal candidate will have solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify issues specific to a local search
All test code is written in C#, but experience in C# is not mandatory.
Solid experience in C/C++ or C# is required, with at least 2 years experience in either language

Bonus Skills:
ASP.Net
SQL experience
PERL scripting
Web Services
Test experience
