This position is for a Software Architect responsible for the integration of design, development, test, and deployment of flight software, ground test hardware / software, ground operations software being developed in 5 different areas (WBS?s). The assignment includes direct oversight of development activities in geographically centric and remote locations as well as at subcontractor facilities. Knowledge and at least 10 years of experience with specific spaceflight computers, current software languages (C+ and C++), ground test and operational control facilities is required. The assignment requires knowledge and 5 years experience of working with Space Systems Company software design standards, requirements, metrics, etc. Also required is knowledge and 5 years experience in working with specific Space Systems Company software development plans (SDPs). This position requires 5 years experience in deploying and coordinating high reliability, qualified spaceflight and ground operational code in life cycles less than 1.5 years. Key technical skills for this position are software to hardware sub-system life cycle product development of specific spaceflight and of specific ground operational systems. Broad knowledge of computer hardware to include high speed data interconnects, fiber-optic data bus design and traffic control, specific Telemetry and Control (T&C) hardware / software subsystem design. Insights and demonstrated experience into ways to optimize early hardware/software integration a must. Another key skill is code optimization and efficient design to be implemented on fixed memory and speed computer point designs. The position will be a management position with limited leadership skills. Management authority will be for associated efforts in geographically centric and remote locations of various proportions. Team work, team building, collaboration and communication skills will be a must in this job as it requires communication across many different platforms and levels of s/w development maturity. This assignment requires an existing SBI clearance with a polygraph in the last 5 years. It also requires frequent travel. Other key attributes involve creativity in engineering design, organizational creativity, fluent presentation skills with senior Lockheed Martin Executives and senior Customers from government and industry sectors. Ability to interface with and influence senior technical and management personalities is another key trait for this position.
