Research Engineer

Develop and conduct projects in fuel impact on gas turbine combustion, emissions, and equipment performance; contact current and potential clients to discuss technical needs and Institute capabilities; prepare and deliver written and verbal proposal presentations; design, coordinate and control technical aspects of projects; analyze testing results; write project results reports; participate in technical societies through publication of technical papers and society meetings.
REQUIREMENTS
Requires a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with industrial or post-doctoral experience in gas turbine combustion. Must have knowledge in heat transfer and fluid mechanics, with graduate work in gas turbine combustion; ideally, dissertation should be experimental-based on a combustion problem related to gas turbine engines. NOTE: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.
