Research & Development Mgr., Authoring Systems Tool Development

Deluxe Digital Studios, Inc. is seeking a Research and Development Manager, Authoring Systems Tool Development for Burbank, CA. Qualified candidate will architect, assign and review the work of computer and software engineers developing Authoring systems that process audio, video, graphic and disc based programmed sources. Will coordinate engineers creating systems capable of; converting these elementary stream sources to format specific form, development of format specific algorithms, design of graphic user interfaces, format specific multiplexer design, format specific file-system design and hardware interface design. Will also direct engineers creating systems used in a production environment to create optical disc based data for the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray disc formats. Will analyze workflow and establish priorities, set deadlines and develop standards for these engineers who are using their knowledge of developing these audio and video production tools to ensure these discs will work on all consumer players a 90-95% success rate. Will also supervise work of engineers who are using knowledge of production and technical aspects of these discs to perform their duties. Will review and approve these tools prior to their implementation.
