Repair Technician

I. SUMMARY
Responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and repairs to specified healthcare equipment.

II. JOB FUNCTIONS
A. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Trouble-shoots and repairs equipment to meet manufacturing guideline specifications
Orders repair parts
Physical and electronic receiving of equipment to be repaired
Schedules delivery of equipment to other locations
Maintains record-keeping as necessary to comply with policies and procedures
Completes paperwork including labor hours and parts used

B. Other Duties and Responsibilities
Determines repair priorities
Maintains working relationship with vendors
Receives incoming parts and supplies
Maintains inventory on all repair parts
Maintains a proper work area, clean of all debris, and disinfects on regular basis
Provides technical support to locations for equipment repair
Performs other duties as required.

A. Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years or equivalent experience in repair of HME/Respiratory Therapy products.

B. Certifications, License, Registrations
Maintain certification necessary to repair specific equipment
Must pass and maintain vendor training classes and become certified per manufacturing classes
Valid driver license

C. Communication Skills
Ability to clearly communicate sound technical support to other Rotech locations
Obtain ongoing relations with all local and national vendors

D. Analytical Skills
Ability to determine when repairs are feasible as compared to manufacturing guidelines
Ability to understand and evaluate electrical systems via electronic meter

E. Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs as necessary
Loading and unloading of equipment

F. Machines, Equipment and Technical Abilities
Oxygen analyzer
Multimeter
Computer, printer, fax machine
Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn.

IV. WORK ENVIRONMENT
Bench style workstation
Repair/workshop environment including the tools necessary to perform job functions
