RELIABILITY ENGINEER I

Develops the analysis methods for establishing reliability of company products and their components, prepares sketches, charts, drawings or reports for further developments. Conducts analyses and investigations to determine relative reliability with regard to such factors as cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, availability of materials and equipment and determines the ability of the product to comply with custom and contractual requirements.

Under supervision, performs work that is varied and somewhat difficult in character, but usually involves limited responsibility. Some evaluation, originality or ingenuity is required.
Bachelors Degree or at least 3 years of Quality or Reliability Engineering experience
At least 2 years of Automotive Industry related experience or at least 1 year of Automotive Repair experience and at least 1 year of Quality or Warranty experience

Job is based from Melrose Park, IL
Travel up to 50% of the time
Valid passport required for international travel

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
International Truck power train experience
Experience/training using statistical quality methods
Reliability engineering certification or Black/Green Belt Training
Manufacturing experience (preferably in the automotive industry).
Knowledge and experience in warranty administration (especially Ford and NITC).
Formal Problem solving experience (8D's and PSDM)
Knowledge of QS-9000 process and APQP processes.
Ability to develop training curriculum and deliver training on various process and Quality initiatives.
Training /experience with reliability and Quality methodologies (dFMEA, pFMEA , DVP&R's, Reliability Growth, etc.)
