Release Engineer

Purpose: TEKsystems is seeking a Release Engineer to work at the LDS Church that will be responsible for the planning and implementation of a Software Development Metrics program, including the architecture of a metrics strategy, establishing metrics models and profiles, developing and implementing automated methods for capturing and reporting on metrics, development of metrics repository, analysis and correlation of metric portfolio for continuous improvement, and metrics reporting and analytics. Incorporate best practices in the use of metrics to improve software development process, and provide successful delivery of software solutions. Metrics include process, project and organizational activities in the areas of compliance and effectiveness. Develop internal and external reporting, portals and dashboards. Evaluation and continuous improvement of metrics for projects, programs and the organization. Develop metrics to ensure projects are successfully delivered on time, within budget, and to specifications. Analysis of the effectiveness of our portfolio of metrics to improve and standardize the metrics program and development processes within the Software Development Lifecycle. Determine how process can be used to control and drive quality within software development. Conduct analysis of processes and tools for change/enhancement requirements. Collaborate with software development teams. Design and document Software Development Lifecycle process and procedures.

--Superior problem solving skills and analytic capability

--Demonstrated ability to understand root causes.
--Undergraduate Degree, 8+ yrs. previous related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
--3+ years of successful leadership of a metrics program in a software development environment - Background in statistical analysis preferred
--Strong knowledge of data base concepts, reporting and analytical tools and methods
--Good background and knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle
--Prior experience coaching, educating and/or mentoring. (ideally software development professionals)
--Project management, process and solution delivery experience is preferred
--Excellent technical knowledge and demonstrated leadership skills required
--Demonstrated strong communication skills to all levels including senior management
--Ability to work effectively and mentor others
--Good prioritization and organizational skills are required
--Strong business partner focus
