RS-68 Deputy Program Manager

The deputy program manager (DPM) is required to assist the RS-68 program manager (PM) and Expendable Propulsion Programs (EPP) Division Director in meeting all technical, cost, and schedule objectives associated with developing the RS-68B engine variant. The deputy program manager shares responsibility for successfully meeting the program contractual requirements, achieving all the technical objectives, and performing within cost and schedule constraints.As part of this responsibility, the DPM will be collocated with the NASA Program Office at the Marshall Space Flight Center to become intimately familiar with the program plans and customer needs.This position includes developing strong working relationships across the entire program team, especially with the NASA program leadership and personnel, the RS-68 Program Manager and EPP Division Director, IPT leadership team, Chief Program Engineer, Business Director, and the functional process integrators assigned to the program.This position requires strong communication skills, rapid team building in a cross-functional working environment, and demonstrated ability in the project management of technically challenging programs. This includes providing support in the preparation and presentation of program status briefings to the customer, executive management, and program team members on a regular basis.This effort will be under an intense NASA oversight environment, which requires significant diplomatic and communication skills. The DPM must develop and maintain a healthy working relationship with all NASA counterparts.The DPM must also support the capture activity for the contract follow-on efforts.The DPM will be responsible for implementing and enforcing the concepts of IPPD, DTC, CMMI, STOP, Wont Fail, ISO9001/AS9100, and all division initiatives in support of PWR vision goals.The DPM will assure that PWRs standards of Ethics and Business Conduct are adhered to or exceeded by all members of the RS-68B team.This position will report to the EPP Division Director and must be able to act for the RS-68 Program Manager for all RS-68B related efforts whenever the program manager is not present.
