RF Systems Engineers and Principal Engineers

Smart Transitions employees are experts in the transition of conceptual designs into early prototype construction and experimentation. All positions are full time at our Arlington, VA, headquarters. ST is seeking well-rounded individuals to satisfy a requirement for RF Systems Engineer and Principal Engineer positions. It is of paramount importance to exceed our client expectations with high integrity and focused attention to milestones.
Responsibilities: Depending upon the suitable candidate experience and knowledge level, assignments (normally program duration) range from detailed analyses and system trade studies, in-depth product and component specification and design; preparation of ICDs and design/technical analysis packages for subcontractors or expert consultants; system integration and testing, both in the lab and in the field; and technical management of out-placed work. May supervise other engineers and may lead to project management responsibilities, dependent on candidate's capabilities and experience levels.
REQUIREMENTS
In addition to working well in a team environment, as a successful candidate you will incorporate the following:We seek RF/RF Systems engineers with exceptional analytical skills who possess 9+ years of relevant experience at the masters degree level (preferred). ST will also consider bachelors degreed candidates with lesser, but relevant, experience. Our areas of interest include, but are not limited to: THz-based sensor systems; LPI/LPD communications systems, components and operations; electronics systems engineering and analysis; ultra wide band (UWB) communications systems and other UWB devices. ST engineers must be versatile and possess the capacity to adjust to changes associated with fast-moving, direct customer-driven needs. Our projects include, but are not limited to: generation and control of 300-600 GHz spectrometer emitter chains and associated detectors; phased array antennas and companion digital beam formers for faint signal surveillance; RF tags and distributed microelectronics/sensors (including miniature GPS receivers); the use of ultra wide band (UWB) pulse communications within custom system architectures; two toned non linear detectors and related systems.
