RF Electronics Technician

Chartered in 1746, and known as the College of New Jersey until 1896, it was British North America's fourth college.Position Summary: The RF Electronics Technician will operate and maintain RF sources for the Heating System Branch. The Technician will assist RF Engineers in troubleshooting failures, fabricating, installing and testing RF and control system chassis that are associated with large high voltage and high power RF systems. In addition, the Technician will design, construct, service and test prototype and commercial printed circuit boards. The candidate must have the ability to read instructions and technical drawings to correctly identify items in equipment; interpret engineering sketches and specifications to determine design factors such as size, shape and arrangements of parts; sketch a rough layout of equipment, compute angles, resistances, impedances, equipment and subassemblies - including electrical and electronic specifications using engineering data and standard references.Job Function: Technical SupportGrade: L&S 09Standard Hours: 40Eligible for Overtime: YesJob Requirements
Essential Qualifications: Qualifications include a minimum of 5 years experience or 3 years experience plus an associate degree, strong mathematics skills; NASA certified soldering skills or equivalent commercial training. Familiarity with printed circuit design layout and schematic capture software is highly desirable. The candidate must be able to see well enough to read instruction, technical drawings and correctly identify items in equipment; posses manual dexterity to manipulate small components and ability to lift and assemble components weighing 50 pounds. Will be required to climb ladders and perform mechanical assembly work from narrow platforms.Education Required: High School or Equivalent
