RF Custom Devices - Principal Electrical Engineer

This position will report to the Manager of the Government Systems RF Custom Devices group. Position requires skills in receiver/transmitter circuit designs, microwave monolithic and application specific integrated circuits (MMICs/ASICs) design, and multi-chip module (MCMs) design utilizing low and high temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC/HTCC) design techniques in the frequency range of baseband to 44 GHz. Type of work will include company and customer sponsored product development.


Responsibilities will include: Development of advanced RF, microwave, and millimeter wave MMICs, and MCM solutions; capture and management of internal and external customer requirements; collaboration with system architects and designers, MMIC designers, and support services from other company locations (e.g., Cedar Rapids, Dallas); develop relationships with suppliers (foundries and design services); develop and conduct tests to validate designs.


This position will be under limited supervision and in general will be required to work independently with customers to establish requirements, and cost and schedules; and with design tool vendors and foundries.


Preferably, the candidate will have a Masters degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering specializing radio RF engineering and with a minimum of 20 years experience.


U.S. citizen and ability to obtain DOD security clearance is required.
REQUIREMENTS
This job requires an undergraduate degree in applicable engineering or science field or equivalent with demonstrated high academic and/or job performance and a minimum of 10 years (normally 18-21 years) of appropriate experience or graduate degree in applicable engineering or science field or equivalent with demonstrated high academic and/or job performance and a minimum of 8 years (normally 16-19 years) of directly related experience.
