REGIONAL ENERGY MANAGER
                       
The Regional Energy Manager interacts with Regional Senior Management Group, Site Management, DTE, and vendors.  This position will be the major interface for all matters relating to the management of electrical energy and natural gas and the procurement of backup power, coal and rail service for the TS Power Plant.  Will have primary responsibility to ensure efficient and optimal use of electrical energy across all the operating sites in the region; coordinate the scheduling of electrical energy between the mining operations, DTE and Sierra, including scheduling and dispatch protocol; negotiate coal and rail contracts for the TS Power Plant; manage the commercial terms and regulatory issues/opportunities for Newmont USA Limited on the Retail Agreement with Sierra.  In addition, manage the commercial terms and regulatory issues for Newmont Nevada Energy Investment asset the TS Power Plant; manage monthly billings and schedule of natural gas commodity with IGI and pipeline capacity through; Paiute, Southwest Gas and Northwest Gas; manage DTE on the O&M agreement for the operations of the TS Power Plant.

Bachelor¹s degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 10 years of experience in industrial power provider or a larger industrial consumer.  Utility background experience not preferred.  Strong network within the electrical power industry preferred.  Must have strong technical and analytical abilities and able to understand business from strategic and technical point view balancing risks and opportunities to provide sound recommend action paths.  Experience with regulatory agencies is critical.  Project management or strategic/business planning experience desirable.  Related experience in project management, valuation, financial analysis, planning, budgeting, risk analysis/management and/or contracting/purchasing will be valuable.  Cross-functional team, leadership, meeting facilitation and senior management communication are a must.  Requires good skills/behavior in leadership, initiative, management, judgement, tact, and communications.  Ability to operate effectively in a team environment across different companies and different departments within each of the companies is critical.  Experience required in working with multiple groups in several locations and interacting with all levels of management
