R&D Senior Project Manager
Reports to: Director of Technical Services
Location: Tulsa, OK

This position is responsible for providing the technical support needed to bring new products from conceptual state to full production. Manages multiple projects from ideation to launch.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements / Responsible for:The overall organization, coordination, management and leadership of medical device design/development projects in the dental industry.Leading large multi-disciplinary, global project team through all phases of project development in accordance with FDA regulations and Dentsply Corporate Protocol Development processes.Champion the program with internal and external customers. Maintain clear communication with partnering companies and other stakeholders.Apply personal technical knowledge/lead team efforts to develop formulas, experimental materials, etc. that meet the design requirements that will enable product success in the marketplace, put together project action plans with timelines, identify appropriate verification testing, develop functional prototypes to a frozen design stage, conduct and document design verification testing and transfer products into manufacturing.Ensure project deliverables meet their quality, safety and functional goals, and satisfy the customerReport program progress to stakeholders, including senior management.Coordinate Design Review meetings.Resolve project/functional conflicts.Education and/or Experience:Doctrine degree in chemical engineering.Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) is a plus.7 years plus of medical device product development and project management experience.Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to commercial applications.Demonstrated ability to drive large, complex product development projects.Solid understanding of Design Control principles and design control processesKnowledge/experience in the dental device industry is a plus.Other Skills and Abilities:Strong project management skills.Ability to be creative and innovative technically and managerially, while at the same time learn, follow and teach our structured design control processes.Ability to work at multiple levels, ranging from individual contributors to VPs.Recognized leadership ability.Skilled at critical decision-making.Excellent working knowledge of business processes.Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including a strong “presence” with senior management.DENTSPLY offers its employees one of the most comprehensive benefits packages in the industry.
