Quality Engineer - Six Sigma
Purpose: Aerotek is in immediate need of a Six Sigma Quality Engineer. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the following:
Job Requirements
- Certification as Six Sigma Blackbelt with >2years experience in leading and completing six-sigma projects.
- Significant experience with Lean Manufacturing, SPC, and Kaizen practices.
- Mind-set that is constantly looking to improve products, functions, and processes (fire in the belly for continual improvement)..
- Excellent organizational, project management, facilitation, and consensus building skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) to effectively and efficiently interact with all functions, levels, and customers.
- Ability to complete several complex independent tasks in a timely manner.
- Analytical thinker with excellent process definition and flowcharting skills.
- High proficiency at basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Minitab, Visio or similar programs) required.
* Proficiency at Agile FileMaker Pro, Brio, Oracle, LabView is not required but is a plus
Job Description Summary
The primary function of this position is to improve product-specific Quality issues for CO2 products. This requires utilizing the DMAIC (Define Measure Analyze, Improve, Control) process to: 1) evaluate the financial impact of the leading Quality/Reliability issues; 2) do root cause problem solving; 3) implement effective corrective actions; 4) lead improvement of manufacturing process controls to sustain/control improvements.
Key metrics for this position include: process yields, final-inspection findings, training compliance, out-of-box quality rate, and warranty return rate.
- The preferred candidate will be a Quality Project Leader with a strong back in Statistical Analysis and Methods
- Candidates should have a Six Sigma Black Belt Certification or a Green Belt Certification ? or be in the process of getting certified.
- The most important aspects of this position, will be the Soft Skills, which the manager desires, such as someone who is Aggressive, has ? Fire in the Belly?, Change Agent, someone who will be able sell to the organization the changes which need to be made within the group, if the company will adapt the Six Sigma Process Change.
- This position will not be a managerial position, and will not have any direct reports, but could work into that type of position, should someone wish to work towards that.
Key Responsibilities
Primary
* Use financial analysis to determine select highest impact improvement opportunities.
* Full-time project leader on continual improvement projects. Establish team charter, set team goals/metrics, facilitate team through DMAIC process, drive actions to closure, document results.
* Promote increased use of Six-Sigma methods/skills at Coherent.
* Facilitate increased ownership of Operators for Quality issues.
Secondary
* Improve manufacturing process control
* Establish sustainable process for developing key process indicators, doing data collection, tracking metrics, and driving corrective actions.
* Improve documentation of processes and adherence to Standard Methods.
* Improve training compliance.
* Support Quality Management System
* Work with and support key Quality Management System processes including:
CAR/PAR System, MRB, Internal Audit, Calibration, Training, etc.
