Quality Assurance Spec. Senior WWW

Implement a quality improvement program and manage the full testing lifecycle for software development projects.  The position leads and manages testing activities/resources for Internet Services projects.  Partner with the project manager, business and project team to develop test strategy, approach, plans, conditions, procedures, and test cases.  Manage the schedule and priority of the testing effort.  Oversee the management of the testing effort using Test Director, ClearQuest and the automation of the test cases.  Prioritize and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle including collaboration with development and business on defect prioritization, scheduling and resolution.  Partner with other teams and manage/coordinate required services in the areas of performance testing, configuration management, defect management, release management, production support, and environment setup.  Evaluates and recommend acquisition of testing products.  This position requires the incumbent to work independently with minimal direct supervision.



Job Description:

Develop and manage test plans.

Manager the development of test cases and testing activities.

Establish test strategy and gain buy-in from business and development team.

Provide recommendation on test case design, test data setup, and test automation approaches

Automate test cases for GUI and non-GUI applications using Mercury WinRunner, Quick Test Pro (QTP).

Analyze test results to ensure that requirements have been met and working functionality has not broken.

Report defects using Rational ClearQuest.

Provide QA feedback on test cases stored in Test Director in order to ensure sufficient detail for automation.

Validate automated test scripts after they are created.

Create and implement test data strategy for regression testing in multiple environments.

Partner with business and development team on making certain requirements are testable.

Manage test automation, performance test, configuration management activities which require interaction and arranging services through other teams.
REQUIREMENTS
Required:

BS in Systems Engineering, MIS, or equivalent work experience.

10+ years experience in testing; test planning, test execution, and/or test automation.

3+ years test management and/or IT management experience.

Solid understanding of and experience in the full software development lifecycle.

Clear Quest and ClearCase experience

Experience with Web and Client/Server technology.

Understanding of all phases of software testing.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.



Preferred:

Certified in Mercury’s Test Suite 7.0

Performance Test Experience

Hands-on test planning and execution experience

Experience with Mercury’s Test Director and WinRunner or other test automation tool suite

Experience managing off-shore testing models

Configuration Management, Release Management, Change Management exposure.
