Gerson Lehrman Group, Inc. (“GLG”) is searching for a QA Engineer who will report directly to the QA Manager. We are an independent primary research firm providing a diverse set of clients – most prominently, the global financial services industry, but increasingly, healthcare, technology and other sectors – with access to a proprietary and global network of experts, and the software and services used to engage these experts for primary research and consulting.
The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer must possess a strong work ethic, be able to effectively multi-task, and possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to easily and effectively interact with technical, non-technical, support, and business staff at all levels. The QA Engineer will be responsible for testing new product development as well as verifying bug fixes and minor enhancements on our websites and updating the bug-tracking database. The position requires experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The tester has to understand and be involved in all stages including business requirements, functional specifications, test plan creation, functional and regression testing and user acceptance. Flexibility is key, as the tester may be pulled into other development projects while still working to keep his/her project on schedule.
Expected Background
Qualified applicants must have the following experience/qualities:
Bachelor’s degree
3+ years QA testing experience, specifically web testing experience
Strong knowledge/understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience analyzing functional specifications and writing QA test plans
Must have worked with a bug tracking tool (e.g., Bugzilla, Mantis)
Experience creating defect reports and documenting test results
Excellent communication skills
Ability to independently set goals and follow through
